Supra arrived to us having been through a lot of trauma. He has two previously broken legs with bones that had fused together on their own, leaving him somewhat handicapped. He also had severe panic attacks related to pressure on the body (e.g., from a walking harness), recoiled from touch to other areas of the body, fear of entering vehicles, and was generally fearful of people. He made good progress out of fear of people as a result of R+ behavior modification and handling, but a suitable adopter willing to provide for all his needs never materialized. Supra wishes to leave his options open just in case his perfect human is out there somewhere, but otherwise, he’s decided to move in with our caretakers and their personal dogs. Maybe that will suit him just fine.
