Solace is a Galgo Espanol, playful and bouncy outside in the yard and is generally relaxed indoors; he loves to be petted and talked to though and gets excited when his humans enter the room. He was very friendly and social with us immediately upon arrival, and likes to try to get all the attention he can. 🙂 Solace has an estimated birth year of 2012. He is what is known as a “fuzzy” galgo, meaning he has some wirey, longer hair rather than the plain short coat of an American greyhound. Currently however his coat is wirey on top and on his face and tail but not very long; it may become long depending on the environment. No promises though! Solace has the longest tail we have ever seen and he has a very definite case of Happy Tail! He was cat tested in Spain and tested fine but we have not tested him here yet. He was also tested fine with male and female dogs in Spain; here he has only been tested with Aria; his female roomie. Solace is super cute and very smart. He learns quickly and is eager to please because he knows pleasing means rewards. 🙂 If you want a happy, bouncy hound who is full of joy and love, this may be your hound.
Update: Solace has learned UP (as in on the couch/in the van etc); DOWN (as in lie down); SH/QUIET; SIT; COME; STOP. We are working on STAY. That’s a tough one for him but he will get it eventually. 🙂 Solace will need a non climbable, minimum 6 foot high fence, possibly 7 foot high as high as he can jump very high and has shown interest in the fence when something is on the other side.
