Solace is a Galgo Espanol, playful and bouncy outside in the yard and generally relaxed indoors. Solace is a sweet, friendly, very smart sighthound who loves to train. He is good in the house, rarely barks (unless there are deer outside, etc., or other dogs start barking first), is house-trained, knows SIT, DOWN, UP, OFF, WAIT (so-so), GO PEE, SH/QUIET, GO INSIDE, LEAVE IT/DROP IT (mainly in Spanish), COME (so-so), and is working on STAY. He loves people and loves attention. he loves to be petted and talked to though and sometimes gets excited when his humans enter. He was very friendly and social with us immediately upon arrival, and really loves people, including kind strangers. Solace has an estimated birth year of 2012. He was cat tested in Spain and tested fine. We have not tested him here yet, but will do so if an applicant requests it. He was also tested fine with male and female dogs in Spain. He learns quickly and is eager to trigger positive reinforcement in the form of treats. 🙂 If you want a happy, sometimes very bouncy hound who is full of joy and love, this may be your hound.
Solace will need a non climbable, dig-proof, minimum 6 foot high fence. He can be placed within 6 hours of the Oregon sanctuary or within 6 hours of one of our key volunteers in Northern California or Washington state.
